T4DNepal produces independent, evidence-based research to inform responsible AI governance in Nepal and similar developing country contexts. Our AI Policy Research & Advocacy work includes:

– Analysis of Nepal’s National AI Policy 2025 implementation progress and gaps
– Comparative studies of AI governance approaches in South Asia and the Global South
– Research on algorithmic bias in systems deployed in Nepal (e.g., credit scoring, healthcare triage, government benefit allocation)
– Policy briefs for parliamentarians and local government leaders on AI risks and opportunities
– Advocacy campaigns for citizens’ right to explanation, consent, and redress in AI-mediated decisions
– Collaboration with UNESCO, UNDP, OECD, and regional bodies to ensure developing countries have a seat at the global AI governance table
