Technology For Education

Technology For Education (T4E) program aims for an for better learning, we should have the pre-school learning like kindergarten, Montessori, or any other form of pre-school education, form an integral part of the formal school education system. and Use of computers and new technologies has become a crucial part of learning as well as teaching. E-learning today has been a key factor in various industries and teaching is one among them. using new technology in education we can improve the teaching quality like audio, video, and the graphical representation is much more effective and efficient for learning.

Currently, there are four levels in school education, categorized as primary level (Grade I to V), lower secondary level (Grade VI to VIII), secondary level (Grade IX to X) and higher secondary level (grade XI to XII).

As per the latest records made public by the Education Ministry, there are 34,935 schools that have (Grade I to V). Likewise, 14,924 schools are lower secondary; 8,814 secondary and 3,659 higher secondary. The record further shows that 34,506 schools provide primary level education whereas 9,109 schools provide secondary level education.
Among government schools, community schools are comparatively more disciplined and their quality is also higher than in other schools.

Studies have shown that the more the investment, the more disciplined and higher the quality of education. There is a need to increase community schools to enhance the quality of education in rural parts of Nepal. Otherwise, poor people of Nepal rarely get the opportunity to acquire quality education. The government needs to increase the number of community schools.

Education Ministry proposes Education, Science, and Technology: Rs 134 billion in the education sector. Out of the total budget, most of the money goes for salary, pension, and other things. There is a very nominal budget for infrastructure development and training.

There are 107,000 permanent teachers. Now, 13,000 permanent teachers will be added. There are 14 different kinds of teachers. The teachers recruited and supported by local bodies are not included. If we want to improve the quality of education, we need to have Skilled and well-trained teachers. The government provided all kinds of facilities to the teachers as per with civil servants but we are yet to use the teachers properly. There involves a lot of political pressure even in the transfer of primary teachers.

1) Infrastructure development program

There is strong evidence that high-quality infrastructure facilitates better instruction, improves student outcomes, and reduces dropout rates, among other benefits. The growth of the knowledge society and the development and pervasiveness of the emerging information and communication technologies (ICT) represents a major challenge and a major opportunity for education. Our Infrastructure development program also focused on equipping schools with adequate hardware, software, and internet (WIFI) the integration of ICT in education, taking inequality in financial and human capital endowments between different regions or/and countries into consideration.

In order to improve educational infrastructure through emerging technologies (ICT), first of all, schools should be equipped with adequate hardware, software, and internet connections.
Nepal also economically backward countries still strongly lack financial and human capital, and supportive institutions to enable them to build telecommunication, internet, and to procure and efficiently apply ICT products for their education system. like a Nepal, economically backward regions or countries are less capable of investing as much money as more developed regions to integrate ICT into education; moreover, qualified teachers are often hardly available. To help children to gain access to education and to enable a more independent self-learning process, Our Infrastructure development program will be developed.

Just imagine, how beneficial would it be for students to understand a chapter visually in class. The concept of smart class education is indeed a blessing to the students of the 21st Century. Technology is changing the way life functions and if it’s for the good, then why not go for it. Smart classes use all interactive modules like videos and presentations and these visually attractive methods of teaching become appealing to students who are already struggling with the traditional method of teaching in a classroom.

In fact, smart classes are almost like watching movies as sometimes, animated visuals are used to teach a point. This kind of visual is both eye-catching and young students can easily relate to them. This is because the audio-visual senses of students are targeted and it helps the students store the information fast and more effectively. And then, there is the advantage of utilizing much of the time wasted earlier in drawing or preparing diagrams on board. Smartboards have all this information in memory and can be presented during the time of class lectures and thus, the time saved can be used in more important things. And this smart classroom concept fulfills the lack of subject teachers in remote area schools we can call the online guest teacher and teach the student using the smart classroom concept.

However, providing high-quality infrastructure facilitates (computers, hardware, software, access to the internet, and Smart Classrooms ) does not automatically increase educational quality and learning effectiveness. When deploying technology in the classroom, it’s important to understand the distinction between training teachers how to use technology and how to incorporate the technology effectively.
