Our Story

Kathmandu Nepal based T4DNepal was founded by Toya Raj Joshi and Bhaskar Bhatt in 2017.out of the deep understanding that marginalized communities living in socio-economic backwardness and information poverty can be empowered to improve their lives on their own, simply by providing them access to information and knowledge on using digital tools. T4DNepal is a non-religious, non-political, non-governmental, not-for-profit organization (NGO). T4DNepal is officially registered under the Society Act with the District Administration Office Kathmandu (Registration No. 222/074/75) and is also affiliated to the Social Welfare Council Nepal (SWC) (Affiliation No. 48283). with the vision of  “To end information poverty and social backwardness by bringing about a digital revolution”.

T4DNepal aims to connect unreached and underserved communities of Nepal in an effort to bring them out of digital darkness and equip them with access to information. With the belief ‘Inform, Communicate and Empower,’ T4DNepal finds sustainable digital interventions to overcome information poverty in rural and remote locations of Nepal, and empower communities with digital literacy, digital tools, and last-mile connectivity.

T4DNepal is one of the Nepal’s leading practitioners in the field of Information & Communication Technology for Development (ICT4D). Its Founder-Director Toya raj Joshi is globally recognized as an expert in this field and he, or T4DNepal as an organization,  is a member of several national governments and non-government bodies, experts panels and task forces engaged in promoting a digitally-empowered and information-rich society. Through all its diverse programs, projects and activities, T4DNepal seeks to help people living in information darkness overcome the information barrier, learn how to use digital tools and the Internet to achieve greater socio-economic equality by uplifting themselves almost on their own using the power of digital devices to access information and knowledge.
